Although the “confrontation between activism and academia is never easy,” our aim with this book is to establish a dialogue between political and conceptual questions and activist practice, to move beyond an elitist “research on activism” and affirm our commitment to reflexive activist inquiry. This scholarly-activist symbiosis not only grounds theory in lived reality but also forms an integral part of our belief that the LGBT movement, as a driver of progressive social change, should be “the first among those who ask the difficult questions about who is excluded, why, and what can be done about it.” 344 pages (in Serbian).
